Solar Technology has partnered with local technical education programs for over 20 years, and offers internships and shadowing programs for students as young as high school age.
Our affiliation with the Lehigh Career and Technology Institute provides benefits for both students and SolarTech. We regularly hire LCTI graduates, and offer internships and co-op opportunities. We’ve benefited from the training offered to students in the Welding and Electronics programs in particular. Our staff includes many LCTI graduates, and our Welding, Paint and Repair departments are led by LCTI graduates.
We also offer shadowing opportunities for Parkland High School and LCTI students, where young people considering a technical education can visit SolarTech and see what the career entails.
Paige Trumbauer, LCTI grad and SolarTech Repair Department technician, says: “LCTI helped prepare me for the challenges I face in repairing equipment as well as communicating with coworkers and our customers. After my shadowing experience, I knew SolarTech was the place for me. The skills I learned at LCTI helped me troubleshoot my way through.”
In addition, we’ve hired engineers through an internship with Lehigh University, and hired office staff from PA CareerLink Lehigh Valley.
