Here’s a Stability Tip for Rain-soaked Highway Boards

5/31/2016

JackStand-for-RainSuffering through a particularly rainy spring? (Texas, we’re thinking of you.) John Stout of SolarTech’s Support Team sends a tip that our customers use for parking boards in grassy (or sandy) areas. If the forecast calls for soaking rains, slip an 8” x 8” x 2” board under each jack stand. The wider footprint will help keep the jack from sinking into mud as the rain softens the ground.

Of course, asphalt is the first choice, and jack stands seem to be more stable parked on gravel, but sometimes a softer surface is unavoidable. Here’s another hint – the 8 x 8 x 2 is the perfect size to store in the battery box.
