The Silent Navigator is a rugged, portable, solar-powered connected marker that transmits specific, location-based work zone events: the start and end of lane closures, lane shifts, and work zones. It is built on SolarTrak technology, but it is not meant to track moving operations or moving equipment.
It is designed primarily to send notifications to navigation applications such as Waze, and to provide Work Zone Data Exchange (WZDx) feeds that can flow into DOT traffic management systems and statewide feeds for public reporting. It also integrates with our SmartZone ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) software.
The Silent Navigator is not crash tested. We recommend deploying it on posts or equipment outside of the traveled way. A piece of 2x2 perforated tubing, a standard sign post often used in work zones, works well: drive it into the shoulder and mount the marker on it.
What makes our ITS sensors & markers different?
Work Zone Locations Drivers Can See
Silent Navigator shares work zone boundaries through WZDx-compatible feeds to 511 and navigation apps to warn drivers before they reach the work area.
Installation in Minutes
Mount to poles, barrels, equipment, signs, or existing infrastructure without deploying another trailer.
Always-On Monitoring
Solar-powered operation, GPS connectivity, and cellular communications provide ongoing speed, location, and traffic information with minimal maintenance.
