Modem and Service Options

  • Customer-supplied modem: for non-ITS uses such as isolated DOT monitoring on your own cell plan, remote surveillance, or yard monitoring
  • SolarTech-supplied modem, your own service: ships with an industrial-grade modem we know and trust (Semtech RV55), so you don't install your own; activate a static IP cell plan with the carrier of your choice
  • SolarTech-supplied modem and service: most common for ITS, and the easiest way to see and control your cameras from Command Center or SmartZone

SolarTech Data Plans

1 GB, 10 GB, and 100 GB monthly plans

Primary Applications

  • Live work zone monitoring and visual verification
  • Incident observation and verification in SmartZone deployments
  • Construction project monitoring
  • Equipment and storage yard surveillance
  • Facility and property security
  • Remote monitoring of temporary or otherwise inaccessible locations

Deployment Options

  • Full-Size Message Boards
  • SPTT-3000 30-Foot Tower Trailers
  • Combined microwave radar and camera installations

Network-connected surveillance cameras, including pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) options, that allow customers to remotely view and monitor active work zones, equipment, properties, and other locations. Our preferred manufacturer is Axis Communications; other manufacturers and camera configurations can be accommodated upon request.

Cameras can operate independently as standalone remote surveillance systems or alongside other sensors as part of a larger SmartZone deployment. For instance, a customer may deploy a microwave radar and PTZ camera on the same trailer, allowing them to view real-time traffic conditions while simultaneously collecting detailed speed, volume, and occupancy data.

Customers can access compatible camera feeds through SolarTech’s WebSuite, including still images, live video, and PTZ functionality where supported.

SolarTech provides integrated sensing and traffic management solutions, not just individual sensors. Depending on your needs, we can integrate sensors into existing SolarTech equipment or provide a dedicated solar-powered trailer with the necessary communications, power supply, and mounting hardware. Use them for basic traffic data collection and monitoring, for remote surveillance, or integrated with SmartZone to automate traffic safety equipment based on changing roadway conditions.

What makes our ITS sensors different?

Complete Solutions, Not Just Sensors

SolarTech provides integrated sensing and traffic management solutions, not just the individual sensors.

On Your Equipment or On Its Own Trailer

We can integrate sensors into existing SolarTech equipment or provide a dedicated solar-powered trailer with the necessary communications, power supply, and mounting hardware.

Standalone or Part of SmartZone

Use them for basic traffic data collection and monitoring or remote surveillance, or integrate them with SmartZone to automate traffic safety equipment based on changing roadway conditions.
